Rebranding our branches!

Posted 29.07.2021

The Adaptation Installation Company was created with the acquisition of Chris Elliot Adaptations in January 2017. Over the years we’ve been fortunate to acquire several other similar, local, family businesses (City Motor Services, DS&P Mobility and Andy’s Kars) as well as setting up 2 brand new locations along the way in Chesterfield and Glasgow.

Today we consist of 6 branches across the UK and are now excited to announce we are rebranding all locations under The Adaptation Installation Company brand. All our locations will continue to operate exactly the same with their current teams offering you the same expert and friendly service you’re used to.

So what’s changing? Well, just the names!

AIC Timeline

Chris Elliot Adaptations, T/A CEA Mobility will become ‘AIC Peterborough’

The CEA team are specialist engineers with over 50 years of experience within the aircraft and motor industry including 20 years of vehicle adaptations. They will continue to operate out of their workshop in Peterborough.

City Motor Services will become ‘AIC Cardiff’

We acquired City Motor Services based in Cardiff in August 2017. CMS Cardiff joined our group with 30 years’ experience and knowledge of adapting vehicles for people with reduced mobility or disabilities. The team have recently moved into bigger premises where they will continue to operate out of.

AIC Chesterfield remains as AIC Chesterfield

The first AIC branch was set up and opened in February 2018 in Chesterfield! Opening the first AIC branch was a key milestone for the group.

AIC Glasgow remains as AIC Glasgow

Then we set up the second AIC branch in July 2018 in Glasgow. This was an especially exciting time as it allowed us to offer our services throughout Scotland.

DS&P Mobility will become ‘AIC Aylesbury’

In July 2019, we expanded once more with the DS&P Mobility team based in Aylesbury. They are experienced engineers with over 30 years’ experience in the motor industry and 20 years adapting vehicles for people with disabilities. Their passion for providing independence to people through driving controls aligned perfectly with the AIC mission.

Andy’s Kars will become ‘AIC Cambridge’

Most recently in January 2020, we welcomed the Andy’s Kars team in Cambridge. Andy’s Kars had been carrying out vehicle repairs, MOT’s and adaptations for years so have a wealth of knowledge in the motor industry. Recognising the opportunity for growth as part of AIC, they joined the group and were excited to focus purely on vehicle adaptation installations.
